How to use AnyDesk

AnyDesk is used for an MCR member to remote into your system to help out with whatever you may need. This is typically used to setup an Editor on our remote system.

You’ll first need to download AnyDesk from their website. This program is free to use: AnyDesk

Once you have installed the program, you’ll need to provide your 9-digit code, which will allow the remote connection to initiate.

Once a connection has commenced, you’ll be promoted with an ‘Accept‘ button. This gives you control over who connects to the session.

On a Windows system, the permissions are automatically adjusted after the installation, but on a Mac system, AnyDesk can only receive incoming sessions when the Accessibility and Screen Recording permissions are granted. There are a few steps you’ll need to follow to allow people to remote into your system:

You’ll need to locate to System PreferencesSecurity & Privacy

1. Unlock Security & Privacy by clicking the Lock icon and entering your password.

2. Switch to the Privacy tab. 

3. Grant required permissions by adding AnyDesk to trusted apps in both sections: Accessibility and Screen Recording

Full Disk Access is optional, but is required to use File Transfer Mode.
